Ate all and were
satisfied
|
|
15:29
And (then) removing thence Jesus came by the sea of
Galilee and going up into the mountain he sat there. 30 and approached to
him crowds many having with themselves lame, maimed, blind, dumb, and
others many, and cast them at the feet of him: and he healed them forth
cried come forth though was evil, murders, adulteries, fornication's
thefts, false witnessing blasphemes 31 so as the crowd to marvel seeing
dumb men speaking maimed whole and lame walking and blind seeing; and they
glorified the God of Israel. 32 And Jesus calling forward the disciples of
him said: I am filled with tenderness over the crowd, because now days
three they remain with me and have not anything they may eat; and to
dismiss them without food I am not willing lest they fall
|
into
the way. 33 And say to him the disciples; Whence to us in a desert loaves
so many so as to satisfy a crowd so great? 34 and says to them Jesus: How
many loaves have ye and they said: Seven and a few fishes. 35 And having
enjoined the crowd to recline on the ground. 36 he took the seven loaves
and the fishes and giving thanks he broke and gave to the disciples, and
the disciples to the crowds.37
And ate all and were satisfied, and the excess of the fragments they took,
seven baskets full. 38 And the (ones) eating were four thousand men apart
from women and children. 39 And
having dismissed the crowds he embarked in the ship and came into the
borders of Magadan.

16:1-12
|
Not to take
heed from leaven of Pharisees
|
|
16:1
And (then) approaching the Pharisees and Sadducees tempting asked
him a sign out of the heaven to show to them. 2 But he answering said to
them: Evening coming on ye say Fair weather for is red the heaven 3 and in
the morning Today stormy weather for is red being overcast the heaven. The
face of the heaven ye know to discern, but the signs of the times can ye
not? 5 A generation evil and adulterous a sign seeks, and a sign shall not
be given to it except the sign of Jonah. And leaving them he went away. 5
And (then) coming the disciples
to the other side they forgot loaves to take. And Jesus said to them: 6
Beware and take heed from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. 7 But
they reasoned among
|
themselves
saying Loaves not we took. 8 But knowing Jesus said: Why reason ye among
yourselves little-faith because loaves ye have not? 9 Do ye not yet
understand neither remember ye the five loaves of the five thousand and how
many baskets ye took? 10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand and
how many baskets ye took? 11 How do ye not understand that not concerning
loaves I said to you? But take heed from the leaven of the Pharisees and
Sadducees. 12 Then they understood that not he said to take heed
from the leaven of the loaves, but from the teaching of the Pharisees
and Sadducees.

Again, the paragraph falls into two halves, the 2nd a commentary on the

. .on this rock I
will build of me the church
|
|
16:13 And (then) coming the Jesus into the parts of
Caesarea of Philip he questioned the disciples of him saying. Whom say the
men to be the Son of man? 14 And they said: Some indeed John the Baptist,
and others Elias, and others Jeremias or one of the prophets. 15 He says to
them: But ye whom me say to be? 16 And answering Simon Peter said: 17 Thou
art

the
Christ the Son of God of the living. And answering Jesus said to him:
Blessed art thou, Simon Barjonas because flesh and blood did not reveal to
thee but the Father of me in the heavens. 18 And I also to thee say; Thou
art Peter, and on this rock I will build of me the church and the gates
of Hades will not prevail against it.

Some here by no means taste death
|
|
16:21
From then began Jesus Christ to show to the disciples of him that it
behoves him to Jerusalem to go and many things to suffer from the elders
and chief priests and scribes and to be killed and on the third day to be
raised. 22 And taking him Peter began to rebuke him saying: Propitious to
thee Lord: by no means shall be to thee this. 23 But he turning said to
Peter: Go behind me Satan: an offence thou art of me, because thou thinkest
not the things of God but the things of men. 24 Then the Jesus said to the
disciples of him: If anyone wishes after me to come, let him deny himself
and let him take the cross of him, and let him follow
|
me.
25 For whoever wishes the life of him to save, he will lose it; and whoever
loses the life of him for the sake of me, he will find it. 26 What for will
be benefited a man, if the world whole he should gain, but the soul of him
loses? or what will give a man an exchange of the sol of him? 27 is about
For the Son of man to come in the glory of the Father of him with the
angels of him, and then he will reward to each man according to the conduct
of him. 28 Truly I say to you There are some of the ones here standing
who by no means may taste of death until they see the Son of man coming
tin the kingdom of him.

Son of man about to suffer
|
|
17:1
And after days six takes the Jesus the Peter and James and John the
brother of him, and leads up them to mountain a high privately. 2 And he
was transfigured before them, and shone the face of him as the sun, and the
garments of him became white as the light. 3 And behold was seen by them
Moses and Elias conversing with him. 4 And answering the Peter said to
Jesus: Lord, good it is as here to be: if thou willest, I will make here
three tents, for thee one and for Moses one and for Elias one. 5 While he
was yet speaking, behold could a bright overshadowed them, and behold a
voice out of the cloud saying: This is the son of me the beloved, in whom I
was well pleased: hear ye him. 6 And hearing the disciples fell on the face
of them and feared exceedingly.
|
7
And approached the Jesus and touching them said: Rise and do not fear. 8 And
lifting up the eyes of them no one they saw except himself Jesus only. 9
And (when) coming down them out
of the mountain enjoined them the Jesus saying: To no one tell the vision
until the Son of man out of dead be raised. 10 And questioned him the disciples
saying: Why then the scribes say that Elias it behoves to come first? 11
And he answering said: Elias indeed is coming and will restore all things;
12 But I tell you that Elias already came, and they did no recognise him,
but did by him whatever things they wished; thus also the Son of man is
about to suffer by them. 13 Then understood the disciples that
concerning John the Baptist he spoke to them.
